Empowering Youth in Nuapada, Odisha
At PARAS India, we are dedicated to empowering youth by providing career guidance and motivational support to help them overcome obstacles. In Nuapada District, Odisha—an area facing significant socio-economic challenges—students often lack the resources to pursue their goals. To address this, we organized a career counseling and motivational initiative aimed at bridging the gap between students' aspirations and the resources they need to achieve them.
Nuapada, recognized as an Aspirational District, presents numerous challenges for its youth, such as the absence of local coaching centers, inadequate transportation, and financial hardships that limit access to study materials and exam application resources. These factors hinder students from pursuing higher education and competitive exams.
In response, PARAS India provided practical advice and motivational support through interactive sessions conducted in two local educational institutions. Experts from Vision IAS shared strategies for succeeding in exams like UPSC and OPSC, and we also introduced other opportunities like SSC, Banking, and Railway exams. The sessions included personalized advice, speeches by local dignitaries, and guidance on utilizing online resources and peer study groups.
This initiative not only provided essential career information but also motivated students to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams. PARAS India remains committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their socio-economic background, have access to the opportunities and support they need for a successful career.
MENTAL COUNSELLING SESSION (16th September 2019)
PARAS India and Happy Living Foundation successfully conducted a mental counselling session on the 16th of September at Nand Lal Basti, Gopalpur village, New Delhi.
The program had seen large scale participation of young girls and women from the community. Various mental health problems were discussed in the session.
It was found they people do not realise that they suffer from mental disorders. They rather think of it as superstitions and seek help from quacks. Mental disorders are often considered as habits and, henceforth, are not treatable.
The mentally challenged need to be treated with respect and dignity like any other human being. A continuous and sustained counselling session is the best way to treat oneself and being emotionally well.
People suffering from mental health issues must be taken to nearby clinics or psychiatrist for treatment.
