VISIT OF GLENYS THORNTON, MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM

On the momentous occasion of ‘Crest of Courage’ by Michael Young Foundation, Baroness Glenys Thornton, Member of Parliament of United Kingdom visited India in the capital city of Delhi. She visited in Nand Lal Slum area of Delhi where PARAS India has been working from past 7 years. She visited Nand Lal community on 17th April at about 11 am. She was welcomed by representatives from PARAS and introduced to the Silai school entrepreneur Mrs. Anuradha and her patrons. She asked her about her family, childhood, education, challenges, in-laws, the impact of Usha in her life and her future plans. Later, students of PARAS India greeted her and sang a welcome song for her, which she praised a lot. Ms. Muskaan a class 7th student gave her introduction in English to the Baroness. She was impressed with her English. Children asked her some questions like her stay in India, views on visiting India again, family and work in the House of Lords. She replied to every question of children with a smile and took a promise from them to take studies seriously.  Children gave drawings and handmade greeting cards to the Baroness.

USHA VISIT

VISIT OF 51 FOREIGN DELEGATES AT SILAI SCHOOL  

The visit of 51 delegates from Australia was organized by INDO GENIUS in collaboration with PARAS INDIA. They belonged to different fields such as social work, entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors, business school students, lawyers and media persons. They visited in the morning hours at nand lal zhuggi of North Delhi. At first, they were introduced about the ongoing project and then it was their turn to ask questions. The Delegates tested the Silai school women by asking them to sew few lehengas which were tailored nicely by those women. Some of them asked those women about their daily routine, the schedule for conduction of Silai school classes, how much do they charge the trainee,  has it changed their life and finally they expresses their view on the entire  project of Silai School.

EXPOSURE VISITS

To make children aware of their surroundings and social structure,Paras conducts exposure visits regularly to various places like police stations,hospitals,jails etc.such exposure visits make them experience different aspects of social life.
