PROJECT DETAILS

In the impoverished neighborhoods of Delhi, PARAS INDIA, in collaboration with Intelligent Communication Systems India Ltd. (ICSIL), has established five community-based sewing schools aimed at transforming the lives of disadvantaged women. The core objective of this initiative is to equip women with the confidence and capability to start their own micro-enterprises, enabling them to achieve economic independence.

Beyond individual empowerment, the program fosters a trickle-down effect in the community: trained women are encouraged to mentor and train other women in their neighborhoods, creating a multiplier impact that extends the program’s reach far beyond the initial participants.

The project provides women with:

  • Training in sewing techniques and machine handling

  • A sewing machine to begin their journey

  • Skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community outreach

  • The opportunity to establish their own Silai Schools, where they can train others, generate income, and become catalysts of change in their villages
