In partnership with R Systems under their CSR initiative, PARAS India launched Project PAHAL in Nand Lal Basti in 2024 and extended it to Rajiv Camp, Dilshad Garden in 2025. This impactful initiative marks a significant stride toward ensuring the holistic development of children and families living in marginalized slum communities of Delhi.

By addressing the interconnected needs of education, health, and community empowerment, PAHAL aims to uplift the socio-economic landscape of urban slums. The project is a living example of how collaborative and sustained efforts can catalyze real, measurable change in underserved communities.

Driven by the vision of a brighter, inclusive future, Project PAHAL stands as a beacon of transformative collective action, ensuring that every child and family, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

 

OBJECTIVES- 

  • Increase the literacy rate within Nand Lal Basti and Rajiv Camp.

  • Reduce the school dropout rate in Nand Lal Basti and Rajiv Camp.

  • Enhance academic performance among students through targeted educational interventions.

  • Access to Educational Resources: Library, reading material, Digital tools.

  • Increase digital literacy levels within Nand Lal Basti and Rajiv camp by providing basic digital training to young children.

  • Increase the engagement of parents and caregivers in their children's education.

  • Community Participation in Educational Initiatives.

  • Health and Hygiene Awareness among Students.

ACHIEVEMENTS-

 

  • Mainstreaming of students in the school who earlier were not enrolled in the school.

  • Improvement in the decision making skills of children

  • Reduction in the drop out rates

  • Awareness among parents has increased manifold as they want their kids to enroll for higher studies

  • Increased participation of girls and women in social activities

  • Higher level of self confidence can be seen in the students
